Welcome to Kindergarten!
My name is Katie Hoffman and this will be my seventh year teaching Kindergarten for the Beaverton School District. I have taught Kinder for five years at West TV and prior to that, Kinder at Bonny Slope Elementary and Greenway Elementary. I began my teaching career in Portland Public in 2009. I completed my BS and MAT at Oregon State University.
My husband, Keith, and I just welcomed our baby boy, Chase, on May 10, 2020.
In my free time, I enjoy watching sports, reading, and going to concerts and local events with friends. I have a strong passion for PYP and inquiry education and cannot wait to see your child emerge into an international minded member of the community.
I am so excited to get to know each other this year and build a strong classroom community. Your child deserves a happy, productive, and safe educational environment and my goal is to guide your child academically and socially. Together we will make some fantastic memories!
This year, I want us to be a class of thinkers and inquirers, where we learn and grow together. Everyday, you will be thinking as a reader, mathematician, writer, scientist, researcher, and historian. We will be learning about a variety of things from how writers get ideas, to the laws of force and motion. I hope you are excited to persevere, work hard and have fun! I know that it is going to be a great year and I can’t wait to get to know you!
